ACORN and Voter Fraud

This whole election process is a sham.  It’s ridiculous.  Phony forms, fictitious names and actual convicted felons doing the ground work collecting registration forms and getting paid BY THE PIECE!  And Obama’s been involved with this group for years.  Limbaugh describes them as “20,000 Jessie Jacksons running around the country.”

Obama and the Reagan Doctrine

2008 Race No Comments

Barack Obama’s debate strategy of portraying the Bush administration as a complete failure is running into one big problem: Bush’s Iraq policy appears to be succeeding. How embarrassing! Well, at least the Democrats can try to make sure that no one finds out about this.

During his foreign trip, Obama tried to take advantage of Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki’s statement that America should work out a withdrawal plan for Iraq. Obama triumphantly declared that now is the time for Iraqis to work out their own destiny. Obama failed to mention, however, that if he had been president, Iraq would still be ruled by Saddam Hussein. The only destiny that Obama would have consigned Iraq to is oppression, torture, and mass graves.

To understand what is going on in Iraq, we must distinguish between two approaches: the Bush doctrine and the Reagan doctrine. Unlike the Bush doctrine–which seemed to require invasion and occupation–the Reagan doctrine was one of assisted non-intervention. Reagan believed that people in foreign countries should fight for their own freedom. We do not fight for them. But if they are willing to fight, we are willing to help. And so in Afghanistan, in Nicaragua, in Angola and to some extent in Ethiopia, Reagan supported rebels who sought liberation from Marxist tyranny. For intance, Reagan supplied Stinger missiles to the Afghani mujaheedin who were fighting to repel the Soviet invasion of that country. Reagan did not, however, send large numbers of American troops to Afghanistan.

Now in Bush’s defense it should be said that the Reagan doctrine could not have worked in Iraq. Unlike in Afghanistan, which the mujaheedin turned into a Soviet “bleeding wound,” there was no Iraqi resistance that could substantially threaten Saddam Hussein. Bush’s choice was either for America to get rid of Hussein, or to leave Hussein in power. But from the beginning the administration understood that, even in Iraq, over time the Bush doctrine must metamorphose into the Reagan doctrine.

It has taken longer than expected. But that’s because Saddam’s Baathist minority–let’s call them the Saddamites–ran not only the government but the entire society. So it has been quite a process to train a Shia elected government to learn to govern a nation in which they were victimized for a quarter century. Slowly, however, the Iraqis have been rising to the task, assisted by able U.S. forces under the competent leadership of General Petraeus.

So now, finally, Iraqis are getting to the position where they can defend their own country and fight for their own freedom. This is what “success” means in Iraq: not the end of the insurgency, or the end of terrorism, but a situation in which Iraqis take the helm and America moves into a supporting role. Of course America is going to get out of Iraq. The only question is whether we will leave recklessly, precipituously, with the risk of escalating violence and chaos and perhaps even a return of the Saddamites. This seems to be the approach the Obama Democrats want. The other option is to leave cautiously, deliberately, in a way that leaves Iraq a self-governing society, the only pro-American Muslim democracy in the Middle East.

Eye Opener Statistics-Military Losses, 1980 thru 2007

2008 Race 3 Comments

We continue to hear the spin of the Iraq and Afghanistan war on terror and the casualties of our young soldiers and pinning blame on the current administration and affecting John McCain’s choice for the war versus Barrack Hussein Obama. However you lean and however you feel about the current administration, this report should open some eyes

As tragic as the loss of any member of the US Armed Forces is, consider the following statistics:  The annual fatalities of military members while actively serving in the armed forces from 1980 through 2007 - by any cause.

1980 ………. 2,392 (Carter Year)

1981 ………. 2,380 (Reagan Year)

1984 ………. 1,999 (Reagan Year)

1988 ………. 1,819 (Reagan Year)

1989……….. 1,636 (George H W Year)

1990 ………. 1,508 (George H W Year)

1991 ………. 1,787 (George H W Year)

1992 ………. 1,293 (George H W Year)

1993 ……… 1,213 (Clinton Year)

1994 ……… 1,075 (Clinton Year)

1995 ………. 2,465 (Clinton Year)

1996 ………. 2,318 (Clinton Year)

1997 ………. 817 (Clinton Y ear)

1998 ……… 2,252 (Clinton Year)

1999 ………. 1,984 (Clinton Year)

2000 ……….1,983 (Clinton Year)

2001 …………. 890 (George W Year)

2002 ………. 1,007 (George W Year)

2003 ……… 1,410 (George W Year)

2004 ……… 1,887 (George W Year)

2005 …………. 919 (George W Year)

2006………….. 920 (George W Year)

2007…………. 899 (George W Year )

Clinton years (1993-2000): 14,107 deaths
George W years (2001-2007): 7,932 deaths

If you are surprised when you look at these figures, so was I. These figures mean that the loss from the two latest conflicts in the Middle East are LESS than the loss of military personnel during Bill Clinton’s presidency; when America wasn’t even involved in a war! (Unless you include Bosnia or the disgrace of Mogadishu , Somalia when Clinton failed to respond to terrorists. Remember ‘Black hawk Down’?)

And, I was even more shocked when I read that in 1980, during the reign of President (Nobel Peace Prize winner) Jimmy Carter, there were 2,392 US military fatalities! From what? How?

I think that these figures indicate that many members of our media and our politicians will pick and choose the information on which they report. Of course we all know that they present only those ‘facts’ which support their agenda-driven reporting.

But why do so many of them march in lock-step to twist the truth? Where do so many of them get their agenda?  Obviously there is one shared agenda. Could it be from the most powerful Democratic family of the decade?

Do you want further proof? Consider the latest census of Americans. It shows the following FACTS about the distribution of American citizens, by race:

European descent …………………69.12%
Hispanic……………………………….12.5%
Black ………………. ……………….12.3%
Asian…………………………………… 3.7%
Native American……………………….1.0%
Other…………………………………….2.6%

Many media lead us to feel the military death ratio is off balanced compared to the distribution by race in America. Here are the fatalities by RACE over the past three years in Iraqi Freedom. Do the comparison yourself.

European descent (white) …….74.31%
Hispanic……………………………..10.74%
Black ………………………………..9.67%
Asian……………………………….. 1.81%
Native American………………….. 1.09%
Other………………………………… 0.33%

I was surprised again. The Obama Campaign and our mainstream media continues to spin these figures (for political gain), nothing more. It’s all about politics.  I hope that during the time between now and November, intelligent Americans can decipher the facts from the spin, the spinners from the leaders, those who seek even more power from those that seek justice, and the dividers from the uniters.

Over the next weeks let’s be good listeners and see and hear who tries to divide our nation; and who wants to unite our nation. Who wants to control how our money is spent and who wants our money spent the way we would spend it. Who seeks power and who seeks justice? Who spins the facts and who is genuine? Please get these numbers out to anybody and everybody you know so as Paul Harvey used to say — “Now you know the rest of the story”.

These statistics are published by Congressional Research Service, and they may be confirmed by anyone at:

Wall Street Goes Trick-or-Treating Early

Economy, Huckabee 1 Comment

A Message from Mike Huckabee:

I wanted to write you to convey my disgust with the passing of this 451 page bailout bill. Wall Street has gone trick-or-treating in Washington a little bit early this October. Wall Street is getting the treats and America is getting tricked. The “Axis of Arrogance” has tried to pull the wool over the eyes of the Main Streeters and in doing so hid a sty full of pork in a bill whose constitutionality is questionable at best. Friends, the folks in Washington continue to treat your wallet as their tip jar and this has to stop.

Just check out a few provisions in this bill:

Sec. 211. Transportation fringe benefit to bicycle commuters.

Sec. 308. Increase in limit on cover over of rum excise tax to Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands.

Sec. 309. Extension of economic development credit for American Samoa.

Sec. 312. Deduction allowable with respect to income attributable to domestic production activities in Puerto Rico.

Sec. 317. Seven-year cost recovery period for a motorsports racing track facility.

Sec. 322. Tax incentives for investment in the District of Columbia.

Sec. 325. Extension and modification of duty suspension on wool products; wool research fund; wool duty refunds.

At a time when we are at “ground zero” and on the verge of an all out financial collapse, I am disgusted that these provisions were made.

At a time when Congress had the opportunity to do something to help the American economy, they lived up to their low approval rating. The only thing we can thank Congress for right now is that they are consistent. They are consistently spending money that doesn’t belong to them, consistently expanding pork projects, consistently doing nothing to help rebuild the American economy and consistently hurting the future of our country. Ultimately, they are consistently ignoring their own values, principles and beliefs and as a result, the American People are going to suffer.

Without the bailout there might have been some temporary hurt, but the long term effect will be far worse because of the precedent this bill has set and the “Bail-Aholics” it will create. Within minutes of the bill passing the state of California was already in line asking to be the next recipient of a Government hand out. We are creating an economy where you cannot fail and by doing so disabling our ability to ever truly succeed.

I am afraid this is just the beginning of the bailouts. We must not go silent into the night, we have to continue to fight and stand up against these legislators.

Consider contributing $4.51, a penny for every page of this ludicrous bill to Huck PAC. We will use it to help fund a changing of the guard and restore trust back to our government.

Stay strong in the fight,

Mike Huckabee

PS:  I’ll also be addressing this issue on the 2nd edition of “Huckabee” this weekend on the Fox News Channel.  We will only be on Sunday night at 8pm ET, 7pm CT due to an already scheduled special that will run Saturday night.  After this week, my show will air on both Saturday and Sunday at 8pm ET, 7pm CT.  Please email all your friends and those on your email directory and ask them to watch.

We have had an enormous number of comments regarding the issue of the Congressional bailout.  It has ignited passions of Americans from coast to coast like few things have and yet in the bubble of D. C., they really don’t seem to understand.

I hope you’ll join HuckPAC with your prayers, contributions, and actions to help good people get elected in the next 30 days.  I hope you’ll share your comments with me and engage in the online conversation we’ll be having over the next couple of days on the issue of the bailout and your reactions to my show on Fox News Channel.

God bless you!

545 People

2008 Race, Opinion 2 Comments

By Charlie Reese
Politicians are the only people in the world who create problems and then campaign against them.

Have you ever wondered why, if both the Democrats and the Republicans are against deficits, we have deficits?

Have you ever wondered why, if all the politicians are against inflation and high taxes, we have inflation and high taxes?

You and I don’t propose a federal budget. The president does.

You and I don’t have the Constitutional authority to vote on appropriations.

The House of Representatives does.

You and I don’t write the tax code, Congress does.

You and I don’t set fiscal policy, Congress does.

You and I don’t control monetary policy, the Federal Reserve Bank does.

One hundred senators, 435 congressmen, one president, and nine Supreme Court justices 545 human beings out of the 300 million are directly, legally, morally, and individually responsible for the domestic problems that plague this country.

I excluded the members of the Federal Reserve Board because that problem was created by the Congress. In 1913, Congress delegated its Constitutional duty to provide a sound currency to a federally chartered, but private, central bank.

I excluded all the special interests and lobbyists for a sound reason. They have no legal authority. They have no ability to coerce a senator, a congressman, or a president to do one cotton-picking thing. I don’t care if they offer a politician $1 million dollars in cash. The politician has the power to accept or reject it. No matter what the lobbyist promises, it is the legislator’s responsibility to determine how he votes.

Those 545 human beings spend much of their energy convincing you that what they did is not their fault. They cooperate in this common con regardless of party.

What separates a politician from a normal human being is an excessive amount of gall.  No normal human being would have the gall of a Speaker, who stood up and criticized the President for creating deficits. The president can only propose a budget. He cannot force the Congress to accept it.

The Constitution, which is the supreme law of the land, gives sole responsibility to the House of Representatives for originating and approving appropriations and taxes. Who is the speaker of the House? She is the leader of the majority party. She and fellow House members, not the president, can approve any budget they want.   If the president vetoes it, they can pass it over his veto if they agree to.

It seems inconceivable to me that a nation of 300 million can not replace 545 people who stand convicted — by present facts — of incompetence and
irresponsibility. I can’t think of a single domestic problem that is not traceable directly to those 545 people. When you fully grasp the plain truth that 545 people exercise the power of the federal government, then it must follow that what exists is what they want to exist.

If the tax code is unfair, it’s because they want it unfair.

If the budget is in the red, it’s because they want it in the red.

If the Marines are in IRAQ , it’s because they want them in IRAQ .

If they do not receive social security but are on an elite retirement plan not available to the people, it’s because they want it that way. There are no insoluble government problems.

Do not let these 545 people shift the blame to bureaucrats, whom they hire and whose jobs they can abolish; to lobbyists, whose gifts and advice they can reject; to regulators, to whom they give the power to regulate and from whom they can take this power. Above all, do not let them con you into the belief that there exists disembodied mystical forces like ‘the  economy,’
‘inflation,’ or ‘politics’ that prevent them from doing what they take an oath to do.

Those 545 people, and they alone, are responsible.

They, and they alone, have the power.

They, and they alone, should be held accountable by the people who are their bosses  provided the voters have the gumption to manage their own employees.

We should vote all of them out of office and clean up their mess!

The “Dave Ramsey” Financial Crisis Fix

Economy No Comments

Somebody get this to McCain…

The Common Sense Fix

Years of bad decisions and stupid mistakes have created an economic nightmare in this country, but $700 billion in new debt is not the answer. As a tax-paying American citizen, I will not support any congressperson who votes to implement such a policy. Instead, I submit the following three step Common  Sense Plan.

I. INSURANCE

a. Insure the subprime bonds/mortgages with an underlying FHA-type insurance. Government-insured and backed loans would have an instant market all over the world, creating immediate and needed liquidity.

b. In order for a company to accept the government-backed insurance, they must do two things:

1. Rewrite any mortgage that is more than three months delinquent to a 6% fixed-rate mortgage.

a. Roll all back payments with no late fees or legal costs into the balance. This brings homeowners current and allows them a chance to keep their homes.

b. Cancel all prepayment penalties to encourage refinancing or the sale of the property to pay off the bad loan. In the event of foreclosure or short sale, the borrower will not be held liable for any deficit balance. FHA does this now, and that encourages mortgage companies to go the extra mile while working with the borrower—again limiting foreclosures and ruined lives.

2. Cancel ALL golden parachutes of EXISTING and FUTURE CEOs and executive team members as long as the company holds these government-insured bonds/mortgages. This keeps underperforming executives from being paid when they don’t do their jobs.

c. This backstop will cost less than $50 billion—a small fraction of the current proposal.

II. MARK TO MARKET

a. Remove mark to market accounting rules for two years on only subprime Tier III bonds/mortgages. This keeps companies from being forced to artificially mark down bonds/mortgages below the value of the underlying mortgages and real estate.

b. This move creates patience in the market and has an immediate stabilizing effect on failing and ailing banks—and it costs the taxpayer nothing.

III. CAPITAL GAINS TAX

a. Remove the capital gains tax completely. Investors will flood the real estate and stock market in search of tax-free profits, creating tremendous—and immediate—liquidity in the markets. Again, this costs the taxpayer  nothing.

b. This move will be seen as a lightning rod politically because many will say it is helping the rich. The truth is the rich will benefit, but it will be their money that stimulates the economy. This will enable all Americans to have more stable jobs and retirement investments that go up instead of down.

This is not a time for envy, and it’s not a time for politics. It’s time for all of us, as Americans, to stand up, speak out, and fix this mess.

Couric Badgers Palin on Pakistan; Had Cued Up Biden on Economy

2008 Race No Comments

On Monday night’s CBS Evening News, anchor Katie Couric announced her day “on the campaign trail with Governor Palin” won’t air until Tuesday, but CBS still made room for an excerpt of her time Monday in Ohio with Sarah Palin and John McCain in which Couric repeatedly pressed the two about an overheard comment Palin made Saturday about Pakistan, badgering them with five follow-ups before moving on to Palin’s “reaction” to criticism of her answers during her previous Couric session. But a week-and-half-ago, when Couric’s day on the campaign trail story with Joe Biden was delayed by news on the financial front, CBS ran video of Couric cuing up Biden on what he and Obama would do to resolve the crisis followed by one challenging question with no follow-up.

At a Philadelphia restaurant on Saturday a man demanded: “So we do cross-border, like from Afghanistan to Pakistan, you think?” Palin answered: “If that’s what we have to do stop the terrorists from coming any further in, absolutely, we should.” Couric decided: “That’s almost the exact position Barack Obama has taken and that you, Senator McCain, have criticized as something you do not say out loud. So, Governor Palin, are you two on the same page on this?” Couric pounded away: “Is that something you shouldn’t say out loud?” and “Are you sorry you said it Governor?” When McCain called it a “gotcha soundbite,” Couric retorted: “It wasn’t a ‘gotcha.’”

Couric turned to Palin: “What did you learn from that experience?” Palin: “That this is all about ‘gotcha’ journalism.”

Obama activists to target young, minorities, homeless in Ohio’s disputed early voting

2008 Race 1 Comment

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) _ Democrat Barack Obama’s presidential campaign blitzed bars and advocates for the homeless have lined up vans to ferry potential voters from shelters.

The prize could be thousands of traditionally elusive voters in hard-fought Ohio who would have the chance to register and vote on the same day — if the courts don’t intervene.

One-stop voting, scheduled for Tuesday through Oct. 6, would be especially convenient for those Democratic-leaning voters who have traditionally had trouble getting to the polls. It’s a reality not lost on two parties locked in a tight race four years after President Bush’s 118,000-vote victory in Ohio gave him a second term.

“The populations that we focus on, the lower income and minority populations, move more often,” said Teresa James, an attorney working in northeast Ohio for Project Vote, which pushes for greater voting participation. “They’re also more likely to have jobs that aren’t flexible in terms of voting.”

Ohio is one of more than 30 states that allow voters to cast an early ballot. Eight states allow voters to register and vote on Election Day, Nov. 4, while North Carolina allows the practice during early voting.

Turnout has been 10 percent to 17 percent higher than the national average in the six states that had same-day registration and voting before 2006, as well as in North Dakota (which doesn’t have voter registration), according to the National Conference of State Legislatures.

Ohio’s early voting period has sparked several lawsuits, including one by two GOP-backed voters who say the six-day period in which voters can register and vote on the same day is illegal. That lawsuit is before the Republican-dominated Ohio Supreme Court, which is expected to rule Monday.

Republican John McCain’s campaign didn’t directly address whether it had plans to take advantage of the early voting window.

“We have a comprehensive grassroots program designed to turn out McCain-Palin supporters once early voting begins,” said spokesman Paul Lindsay.

Obama’s campaign plans to send staffers to Ohio State University, with about 53,000 students, to encourage early voting among the sometimes hard-to-engage young. Polls show Obama easily carrying the demographic against McCain.

Obama’s campaign plans to arrange concerts with John Legend, who will hold early voting rallies on Monday in Columbus, Springfield, Dayton and Cincinnati. For campuses far from election boards, Obama aides are organizing car pools to make sure students get to the polls.

On Saturday, Obama’s campaign targeted the 100,000-strong college football crowd at Ohio Stadium with a flyover advertising early voting and visits from staffers to surrounding bars.

The Northeast Ohio Coalition for the Homeless believes it can round up 2,000 people from homeless shelters in the Cleveland area and get them to polling places. A donated van will shuttle voters from two shelters, including the city’s largest downtown. Seventeen other shelters are providing their own transportation.

Project Vote will go door to door in minority neighborhoods and use vans to transport people to election sites in Cleveland, Cincinnati, Columbus, Dayton and Toledo.

Ohio’s Republican-controlled legislature passed a bill in 2005 that enabled all registered voters to vote absentee without providing a reason, beginning Tuesday. The deadline for registering isn’t until Oct. 6, so Democratic Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner ruled there is a six-day window in which voters can register and vote at the same time.

The GOP maintains that a person must be registered for 30 days to get an absentee ballot. They said Brunner has read a partisan interpretation into law that would give election officials no opportunity to check the validity of voters’ registrations.

Amid the legal wrangling, preparations for the window continue.

The progressive Rock the Vote will have a bus tour through Columbus, Dayton, Wilberforce, Athens, Cleveland and Bowling Green — all metro areas or college towns — to emphasize the convenience of the calendar overlap.

Cleveland City Councilwoman Stephanie Howse said activists and Obama volunteers are spreading the word in her ward.

“It’s just one piece of our much larger approach to early voting to turn out as many people as possible to get those votes in the bank,” Obama spokesman Isaac Baker said.

MoveOn.org Posts Misleading Ads on Facebook

2008 Race 1 Comment

From our friends at CitizenLink.com

Liberal group MoveOn.org has purchased ads on Facebook featuring mainstream news stories with headlines that have been rewritten to be blatantly critical of Sen. John McCain and Gov. Sarah Palin.

The misleading ads, which link to articles by media outlets such as The Washington Post, the Associated Press and The Wall Street Journal, boast headlines like: “AP Says: Palin Lied” and “Washington Post breaks ANOTHER Palin scandal.”

“During a presidential election season, voters need to be even more cautious about where they get their information and what sources of news they consume,” said Carrie Gordon Earll, senior director of issue analysis at Focus on the Family Action. “This is an example of how political agendas can be portrayed and perceived as news in order to influence the election. Voters should beware.”

The news organizations said they were not aware of the ads.

Another something to be aware of to promote truth!

Obama’s Campaign-All Smoke and Mirrors

2008 Race, Humor, Obama, Opinion No Comments

“I blew a few smoke rings, remembering those years,” Obama wrote in “Dreams From My Father,” in a section of the book about his college days. “Pot had helped, and booze; maybe a little blow when you could afford it.”

Hey, A little weed ani't so bad. It made me popular!

Hey, A little weed ain't so bad. It made me popular!

I guess it’s too much to suggest anymore that we expect our leaders to be held accountable for their actions.  We have given an admitted felon an opportunity to be President.  As far as I know, cocaine is illegal.  And I thought lawyers had to pass a separate written ethics examination.  Don’t they have to exibit good moral character?

Just for a moment, let’s forget his drug habits.  Let’s examine a little closer just how BO made his way up the political ladder.

In 1996, the state Senate seat for the 13th District in Illinois was left open by a retiring state senator, and Barack jumped at the opportunity to run for the seat representing the Democratic Party.

In 2002, when word came out that Senator Peter Fitzgerald was retiring, leaving his seat open, Barack saw that opportunity had once again shined on him. He embarked on a campaign to win the Democratic Party nomination for the vacant Senate seat.

Obama’s Republican opponent for the seat was slated to be Jack Ryan, but when Ryan’s divorce records were unsealed, some very unsavory behavior was revealed and the conservative Ryan was forced to leave the race, leaving the floor open for Alan Keyes to join as Barack’s opponent.  Keyes’ strong conservative viewpoints and issues with Keyes being viewed as an out-of-state candidate (since his primary residence was in Maryland) led to Obama winning a large victory.

I have a deep faith; I’m rooted in the Christian tradition. I believe that there are many paths to the same place, and that is a belief that there is a higher power, a belief that we are connected as a people. That there are values that transcend race or culture, that move us forward, and there’s an obligation for all of us individually as well as collectively to take responsibility to make those values lived.      ~ B. Obama
